PPG's Sungate 400 Glass Approved for Lamination with Select Interlayers

PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) announced that SUNGATE(R) 400 glass has been approved for lamination with select interlayer and film materials such as SAFLEX(R) and VANCEVA(R) by Solutia Inc., and BUTACITE(R) and SENTRYGLAS(R) by DuPont.

Sungate 400 glass is a passive, low-emissivity glass with a magnetron sputtered vacuum deposition (MSVD) "soft coat" that helps commercial buildings in heating-dominated climates retain heat from the sun and reduce winter heating costs. Despite its exceptionally clear aesthetic, Sungate 400 glass has a winter U-value (insulating value) that is 9 percent better than passive low-e glasses such as Sungate 500 glass, which are manufactured with a "hard" pyrolitic coating.

Laminated PPG architectural glass products are available through members of the PPG CLP CERTIFIED LAMINATOR PROGRAM(R), an exclusive national network of suppliers specially trained and audited by PPG to provide the highest levels of product quality and customer service.
