Professional Gemstone Testing made Simple and Easy with the Presidium Refractive Index Meter

As the New Year comes around, iGem Instruments brings in with it a new tool for the jewelry industry. Through an agreement with Presidium Instruments, one of the most well-known names in the field, iGem Corporation will exclusively offer the Presidium Refractive Index Meter (PRIM).

The Presidium Refractive Index Meter is an improvement on the previous Presidium Reflectivity Meter, and acts as a step forward in jewelry testing technology. The past method of measuring the amount of light reflected off of a stone is replaced with the more commonly used measure of the amount of light passed through the stone. The PRIM has a refractive index test value range of 1.000 to -3.000, greater than that of most modern refractometers, making it capable of testing almost any known gemstone accurately, reliably, and without the use of additional R.I. liquid.

Once tested, the refractivity index number will be displayed upon the PRIM's easy to read LCD screen, and the unit will power off automatically when not in use to conserve battery. The Presidium Refractive Index Meter is portable and lightweight, weighing in at only 0.5lbs (140g) and measuring 5.5in x 3.15in x 1.3in (140mm x 80mm x 33mm). It is simple to use, and has international voltage compatibility, making it a truly versatile tool for jewelers, pawnbrokers, jewelery/gem enthusiasts, and anyone with an interest in the jewelery industry.

The PRIM will be offered exclusively by iGem Instruments on http://www.igem.com throughout the month of January at a price point affordable to any jeweler or gemstone enthusiast.
