Next week at the AHR Expo, Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a provider of integrated performance analysis software and consulting services for sustainable building design, will demonstrate its VE-Navigator for ASHRAE 90.1 at booth C1740.
By providing a structured workflow for engineers and HVAC professionals, the recently launched VE-Navigator simplifies the entire modeling process, while providing automatic reports in a format suitable for LEED submissions.
The future of LEED Energy Modeling, IES’ VE-Navigator for ASHRAE 90.1 streamlines the design process from start to finish while increasing both productivity and accuracy. It also provides many technical, time-saving and commercial benefits, including instant creation of all four baseline models from the proposed design, the ability to automatically create and size HVAC systems (including ASHRAE 62.1 ventilation), and to gain feedback throughout the design process in order to maximize LEED Energy Credits obtained.
Over the past six months, current users have tested this product. Steven Lembo, Associate, LEED AP at Kohler Ronan, said, “IES’ VE-Navigator for ASHRAE 90.1 has enabled us to perform models faster, giving us the ability to easily model all the PRM requirements early on. It has ultimately reduced the time it takes us to undertake ASHRAE 90.1 PRM calculations by nearly 45 percent.”
Chris Flood of Cobalt Engineering, added, “To date, we have been using the IES ASHRAE 90.1 VE- Navigator to produce LEED ratings for final LEED models. It has reduced the time it took me to undertake these calculations, by providing a single environment within which to perform each of the necessary steps. More importantly, it has enabled more accurate modeling of the baseline and proposed buildings, and facilitated the reduction of human error.”
“We are very excited for engineers to get to experience our new VE-Navigator at the AHR show,” said Dr. Don McLean, Founder and CEO of IES. “Designed by experts in LEED Energy Modeling and ASHRAE 90.1, this product streamlines the calculation and submission process, bringing structure to the design process. Reports are automatically created for LEED Energy submissions, significantly reducing the time it takes to set up and create models.”
