Danone Waters of America Redesigns Evian Bottle to Reduce Carbon Footprint

Danone Waters of America declared that as part of its sustainability efforts, the company has redesigned its 1.5L evian bottle, which is now made of up to 50% recycled PET.

According to the company, the bottle is 100% recyclable and uses 11% less plastic than the earlier design. The average weight of the compact bottle is now 28.6 g. These efforts will reduce the company’s overall carbon emissions by 32%. The PET bottle marks a vital step in evian’s environmental policy that aims to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40% from 2008 to 2011 end.

The evian bottle has a new grip to facilitate drinking and can be crushed easily. Thus the bottle occupies less space in recycling bins, which in turn enhances the environmental aspects.

The Vice President of Marketing at Danone Waters of America, Jerome Goure commented that evian is dedicated to reducing carbon footprint and providing pure and quality water.
