Thresher Uses Metal Matrix Composites to Pursue Sales Opportunities in the Automotive Market

Thresher Industries, a Hanford, California-based company, declared that it will use its patented ThermaLite metal matrix composites and associated procedures to search for sales opportunities in light truck piston and automotive industry.

According to Tom Flessner, Thresher’s President and CEO, the fast recovering automotive industry offers an exclusive opportunity to the company to provide its ThermaLite alloy that meets the specific demands of the industry which is not met with by any other materials. The company plans to collaborate with producers to design the hybrid alloy required for pistons and assist in transferring the work to bigger production facilities as and when the quantity increases.

The company is looking forward to achieve considerable revenue growth without making capital investment. The company has made investments to develop composite alloy materials. Its cast material has specific properties that make it suitable for use in the automotive segment.
