The Research Center of National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) has approved Icynene’s closed-cell spray foam insulation, ICYNENE MD-C-200, as a green building material product. Icynene provides solutions to construct energy efficient buildings and homes.
This ‘Green Approved’ status allows architects and builders to use the MD-C-200 spray foam insulation to gain points to get the National Green Building Standard certification. They can receive up to 47 points with respect to certification when using MD-C-200 spray foam insulation.
ICYNENE MD-C-200
A set of stringent practices designed by the National Green Building Standard is used to evaluate the performance of MD-C-200 spray foam insulation. The MD-C-200’s performance is assessed based on formaldehyde emissions, leakage rate of building envelope, air sealing and insulation as per the CDPH 01350. Nonstop air barrier between ceilings and walls isolating the garage from the house is also one of the practices set by the National Green Building Standard.
Icynene’s MD-C-200 provides several structural and performance advantages for designers and builders who are in search of sophisticated architectural options, green building certifications and construction methods.
