Solutia has expanded its Vanceva Color Studio with the introduction of Ocean Grey, a glass interlayer product. With a high light transmittance of 61%, the Ocean Grey interlayer is ideal for safety glass applications.
With the introduction of Ocean Grey, designers and architects now have more design choices for both outdoor and indoor applications. By properly laminating and deploying the Ocean Grey interlayer, it is possible to produce laminates that meet the architectural standards required for safety glass applications.
The Ocean Grey has a homogeneous neutral gray color. The product can be utilized separately or layered with other colors from Vanceva to produce a wide range of opaque, translucent and transparent grays and deep shades of amber, red and blue.
The Vanceva Ocean Grey offers the performance properties of laminated glass such as the structural integrity, noise reduction, security and safety. Designers and architects who want the same performance parameters of Saflex protective interlayer products can find the same in Vanceva Ocean Grey. The product is ideal for both residential and commercial glazing applications such as aesthetic facades, spandrel, signage, partitions, wall cladding, flooring and furniture.
The Global Architectural Applications Manager at Solutia, Julie Schimmelpenningh commented that the Ocean Grey interlayer offers numerous layer combinations of grey or white and grey. With these offerings, glass shades from black to white can be developed.
Americas Architectural Market Manager at Solutia, Aimee Davis commented that the Ocean Grey offers better aesthetic appeal and visual quality. It can produce a wide range of transmittance values without increasing the thickness of the glass. She also assured that the Vanceva Ocean Grey can be used with all types of Saflex protective interlayers to obtain more PVB thickness to fulfill impact standards.
