Provider of nano-based energy conserving solutions, Industrial Nanotech proclaimed that it has successfully completed the testing and evaluation of its patented Nansulate product line for applications in military vehicles and ships.
Nansulate is a unique coating solution comprising a material based on nanotechnology. The coating solutions are engineered to exhibit superior performance attributes of chemical resistance, fire retardant, mold growth resistance, corrosion resistance and thermal insulation. It offers lead encapsulation in a water-based, eco-friendly coating formulation. Industrial Nanotech produces its novel nanotechnology-based coating products in the United States.
Various military organizations have been utilizing the Nansulate coatings for their specific requirements. The Naval Business Center based in Philadelphia is using the coating solution for corrosion control and pipe insulation, while the U.S. Navy at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is using it for corrosion control and insulation of metal dock structures. The U.S. Navy at the Pearl Harbor Naval Base and Norfolk Naval Shipyard is using the coating for lead encapsulation in their buildings, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers located in Vicksburg, Mississippi is using it for pipe insulation.
The Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Industrial Nanotech, Stuart Burchill stated that with the help of an independent consultant, the company has identified the application areas for its Nansulate coating technology in the US Military. The internal walls of personnel carriers and armored tanks, and the pipelines on nuclear-powered ships and submarines are the applications areas in which the company’s product can be used, he added.
