EcoBlu Products proclaimed that it has inked a deal with Calvert Company to utilize ECOB Red Shield coating to private label its existing line of GluLam beams.
Calvert has given ‘JAS Approval’ to ECOB Red Shield coating technology that offers unique water resistance attributes along with resistance to fire, termite, wood rot and mold. EcoBlu now supplies its Red Beam to the wholesale market across the United States. With JAS approval, EcoBlu intends to launch the Red Beam into Korean, Chinese and Japanese markets.
According to the company, Glue Laminated beam offers both engineering properties and protection at competitive pricing when compared to other beam products available in the market.
The President and Chief Executive Officer at EcoBlu, Steve Conboy stated that the company is happy to use its Wood Surface Film technology to fabricate a product with a quality that meets wax coating industry specifications for laminated wood. The collaboration with Calvert Company has brought an ultra strength GluLam beam with Red Shield protection, the first of its kind, into the market, he added.
The President of Calvert Company, Doug Calvert commented that the sales of the company’s protected beam will rise with increased demand for protected lumber.
