Precision Roll Grinders (PRG) has recently improved the technical abilities of its Texarkana plant by installing new Waldrich Siegen grinding machines and Twin Arc Spray units, featuring patent-protected B-axis.
The Twin Arc Spray equipment uses a couple of wires concurrently melted using an electric arc, followed by atomization of the melted substance using compressed gas and then thrusting it ahead to develop a strong secure coating. This offers high bond strength and reduced porosity level coatings. The rate of spraying is significantly enhanced to reduce costs and increase manufacture speeds.
Jim Manley, President of PRG, stated that the inclusion of a Twin Arc Spray unit to their Texarkana plant has enabled them to offer another journal-and-head repair service option to their clients. He added that the B-axis equipped in the grinding equipment enables the placement of the grinding wheel perpendicular to the crown tangent, thereby enhancing roll shape precision, improving the quality of the surface, increasing the contact area of the grinding wheel and reducing wear and tear of the high grinding wheel edge.
The company has also recruited new employees for its sales team in the Texarkana region, with Peter Pugh as Account Manager. According to Bob Rourke, National Sales and Marketing Manager, Peter Pugh is an expert in mechanical engineering, production scheduling, plant management and materials planning areas.
PRG continues to enhance its technological and service-related abilities, providing its clients the most advanced roll processing solutions in North America.
