RPC Llantrisant has produced new lightweight PET bottles for re-launch of Rowse Honey, a leading honey brand in the UK.
The new packaging design for Rowse Honey required a hexagonal pattern and a space for enhanced labeling. Hence, RPC Llantrisant had redesigned the earlier torpedo-shape bottle into new a squeezy bottle with hexagonal shape.
Dean Williams, designer at RPC Llantrisant, said that the bottle design required only slight alterations based on the outline designs received from Rowse. Major modification made in the bottle was the shape of label panel.
The newly designed PET bottles are available in 680 g and 340 g with flip-top caps. A 1.36 kg variant packaging with valve cap is also available. Aoki single stage injection stretch blow moulding equipment was used to manufacture the recyclable bottles.
The bottles were added to the company’s filling lines without causing any significant distraction to the manufacturing process. Rowse’s major requirement was the squeezability of the bottles. Hence, a design change was employed without affecting the squeeze-and-dispense process of honey.
RPC’s clear packaging enhances the naturalness of the Rowse’s honey and delivers a great impact on shelves.
