New Line of Multispectral Coatings from Jenoptik

Optical Systems division, a Jenoptik Group, has introduced a new range of multiband, multispectral coatings at 2011 SPIE Defense, Security & Sensing Expo.

The new product line includes antireflective (AR) and filter coatings. These coatings are ideal for future thermographic applications.

There is need for high performance coatings in emerging technologies such as multispectral single aperture optical systems, spectral gas analysis and hyperspectral image fusion to increase performance and sensitivity of the systems. Multispectral image fusion is utilized in surveillance as well as target acquisition applications. It decreases false positive occurrences in these applications. Single aperture optical systems are used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other size and weight limited uses.

Jenoptik’s new multispectral coating line will meet the requirements of customers to filter and transmit wavelengths in the spectral range. The coatings’ stress is reduced through the design and manufacturing process and they meet the adhesion and durability specifications as per MIL-C-48497 standard. The AR and filter coatings and components can be created in different varieties based on the customer needs.
