Centrosolar Group has commissioned its first Asian anti-reflective (AR) coating production line in Huzhou, China.
The AR coating line is the company's first in Asia. The coating is used to cover photovoltaic modules.
This is a part of the company’s strategy towards international expansion. The AR coating will be produced by a partner company, which operates a glass melting furnace for Centrosolar Glas, Centrosolar’s subsidiary in Germany and one of the world’s leading manufacturer of solar glass with AR properties.
Currently, the subsidiary exports anti-reflective solar glass grades from its plant in Fürth, Germany to various locations, including the U.S. and the Far East.
Centrosolar Glas supplies anti-reflective coating that boosts the power output of photovoltaic modules by nearly 6%. The annual capacity of the Centrosolar’s AR coating line is 1.8 m2. According to Centrosolar, it will now be able to supply its product to Far East customers. At present, there are no plans for Europe import. The Asian region presents a potential market for the company’s solar glass business growth.
