Alcoa Signs MOU with CDB for Global Aluminum Projects

Klaus Kleinfeld, Chairman and CEO of Alcoa, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jiang Chaoliang, Governor of the China Development Bank (CDB), for a wide range of global aluminum and other projects.

The agreement mainly focuses on collaboration with Chinese firms for worldwide expansion projects and the development of domestic aluminum sector in China.

Kleinfeld stated that the MOU provides a great opportunity for Alcoa’s growth across the world. Combining Alcoa’s worldwide network and significant experience with CDB’s expertise and financing capability will benefit both the companies.

CDB’s Governor pointed out that the bank is committed to offering feasible prospects for the Chinese firms, who can expand their growth capability both at national and international levels. The partnership with Alcoa will further reinforce these objectives.

CDB and Alcoa will join forces to identify potential projects and partners in China and abroad. In addition, both organizations will provide professional training for their workforce.
