Scholle Packaging, specialist in bag-in-box packaging for the beverage, food and industrial markets, has purchased ZORK, a company specializing in peel and reseal closure products for the spirit and wine market.
Scholle Packaging provides novel closures and films such as FlexTap for flexible packaging in beer, wine and spirits industries. The acquisition complements the company’s existing performance polymer technologies and helps expand its closure offerings for flexible and rigid container uses in the spirit and wine market
The ZORK purchase is significant to Scholle Packaging’s Customer Integrated Packaging business division. Scholle Packaging will now deliver ZORK STL and SPK closures to its existing customers. The STL closure is suitable for still wines in the U.S., Australia and Europe. The SPK, the world’s first re-sealable closure, is ideal for sparkling wines.
The ZORK closures will be launched under the Scholle Packaging’s product line at the London International Wine and Spirits Fair scheduled on May 17 to 19, 2011.
