ProMetic Signs Deal to Improve Production Process of Biopharmaceutical Product

ProMetic Life Sciences declared that its UK subsidiary company, ProMetic Biosciences, has inked a deal with a global company to improve the quality of its current biopharmaceutical product produced in huge quantities.

ProMetic, as per deal, will improve the efficiency of an affinity resin product and the related production process specifications for its client. The services offered by ProMetic will enable the client to manufacture the product with improved capabilities to achieve more market share in the growing market. The deal will allow Prometic to receive CAD 800,000 as initial income during the year 2011. The company, after accomplishing the associated target product profiles, anticipates entering into a long term accord for the production and distribution of the affinity resin.

According to Dr. Steve Burton, CEO of ProMetic Biosciences, the affinity technology supplied by the company has a number of potential uses. This has been shown in the latest application where a specifically designed affinity product will be deployed to take out particular impurities from a biopharmaceutical product to improve its safety and quality. He added that the increased annual production of the biopharmaceutical product and the regularity of large production will prompt a continuous demand for ProMetic’s resin product.
