Orient Paper has announced that the renovation is nearing completion at one of its unused paper production lines that can now be utilized for the production of digital photo base paper and other specialty papers.
Work is also progressing on schedule to start the trial production of the company’s new corrugating medium paper manufacturing line in the beginning of July 2011.
Once the renovation is completed, the medium paper production line, which has not been in production since 2007, is anticipated to manufacture up to 10,000 tons of high-profit-margin specialty papers such as security paper featuring anti-counterfeit properties and/or digital photo base paper.
Orient Paper expects to complete the renovation works after the deployment of new power supply units at the production line in July 2011. The company expects to start production at the renovated paper line by the end of Q3 of 2011 after the successful completion of trial runs.
Orient Paper’s new corrugating medium paper production line has a production capacity of 360,000 tons. After the inclusion of the new production line, the company’s total production capacity of corrugating medium paper will increase to nearly 199,500 to 220,500 tons in which nearly 98,000 tons of paper is anticipated to be produced by the new production line.
