Simrit, a part of Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies, announced that it will display its aerospace engine sealing product line at the 2011 Paris Air Show. The sealing portfolio includes ACTISEAL, compact mechanical, segmented and brush seals. These solutions can be used in a wide range of aerospace applications, including space vehicles, rockets and engines.
To meet different customer requirements, Simrit's ACTISEAL line includes three products, namely ACTISEAL–W, ACTISEAL–E and ACTISEAL–C. These solutions effectively prevent gas or fluid leakage problems. At present, the need for a substitute to traditional labyrinth seals has grown due to demanding operating conditions in existing gas turbine engines and rising environmental concerns. Hence, brush seals were developed to address such requirements.
The circumferential segmented seals from Simrit have been designed for gas sealing applications in gas turbines and jet aircraft engines. These seals are suitable for high-performance tools that face major issues related to efficiency, weight reduction, space requirements and large axial shaft movements. The circumferential segmented seals also have applications in blowers, compressors and other rotating machinery.
The mechanical face seals from Simrit are used in industrial generators, compressors, starters, hydraulic pumps, aircraft engine main shafts and accessory gearboxes and other rotating machinery.
