Harper to Install Pilot Carbon Fiber Conversion Line in Europe

Harper International has received a new order for a completely integrated carbon fiber conversion line. This pilot scale line with enhanced design features will be installed in Europe for carbon fiber production. The carbon fiber produced will be used in advanced communication technology.

Carbon Fiber Conversion Line

The pilot carbon fiber line has higher processing speeds when compared to conventional processing speeds and will produce carbon fiber materials from 6K polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor. Under the terms of the contract, the company will deliver its material transport system, waste gas abatement system, fiber surface treatment and size application conditioning system, LT and HT slot furnaces and improved oxidation oven technology.

This contract expands Harper’s list of technically advanced carbon fiber lines. The company has installed integrated carbon fiber lines for numerous commercial-scale applications that range from micro-lines through lab scale pilot lines to full-scale production lines.

Harper is on the winning path because of its superior technology offering. The company’s breakthrough projects further strengthen its position in the industry.
