Adhesives Research (AR) will showcase its bonding technologies for solar cell junction box, encapsulation barrier and bus bar applications in thin film and crystalline photovoltaic (PV) modules at the InterSolar North America exhibition to be held on July 12 to 14, 2011 in San Francisco.
New PSA technologies deliver consistent bonds that improve the capabilities of PV modules. PSA tapes are available in continuous roll formats and are easy to handle. Adhesives Research’s ARclad 92446 and ARclad 92709 PSA technology junction box tapes are designed for applications in solar cell junction boxes. They feature die-cuttable foam tape technology that allows lamination to the junction box and bonds to the glass directly. This results in reliable and durable bond that performs better than other similar products in damp heat and accelerated aging tests. It adheres well to TPT, metal, glass and fluorocarbon films. The tapes perform well up to temperature of 120°C.
Barrier Adhesives for PV Cells provide strong bonds and prevent oxygen and moisture for effective encapsulation. They are electrically clean, non-corrosive, low-outgassing, environmentally stable, UV-resistant, and have low color and high clarity.
The ARclad 92708 is a pressure-sensitive conductive adhesive. It forms an electrically conductive, stable and cohesive bond, which reduces micro movement. It can endure high damp heat and thermal cycling conditions. The ARclad 92708 is coated with highly conductive acrylic adhesive.
The ARclad 90038 PSA demonstrates corrosion resistance and exceptional conductivity for bus bar applications.
Adhesives Research provides a range of PSA products for electrical interconnections, bonding and assembly, wire management, and encapsulation. It manufactures custom specialty coatings, films and laminates.
