Fuwei Films (Shandong), a subsidiary of Fuwei Films and a developer and distributor of high-quality plastic films, has signed a letter of intent with China Bottlers Procurement Consortium (CBPC), Coca-Cola’s authorized procurement service provider in China, to supply PETG heat shrinkable label films. The delivery will take place in the second half of 2011.
PETG is an environmentally friendly, enhanced BOPET material and it is utilized in the global label industry. The material is extensively approved and recognized by several major suppliers in the world, including Coca-Cola. Based on the deal, Shandong Fuwei will deliver PETG films to designated label suppliers present within the Coca-Cola bottling system in China.
Coca-Cola has decided to adopt environmentally friendly initiatives by using PETG films as an alternative to non-carbonated PVC beverage labels. Hence, it has selected Shandong Fuwei as the exclusive supplier of PETG films in China.
Fuwei Films seeks to strengthen its relationship with Coca-Cola and various other renowned beverage companies in the world. The company will continue to strengthen its research and development initiative and implement products differentiation strategy to remain competitive in the market.
