LANXESS, a global specialty chemicals company based in Germany, is exhibiting its systems and products for furniture, automotive and shoe leather at the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE). The exhibition is scheduled to take place in September 6-8, 2011 in Shanghai, China.
The company is debuting a new robust organic tanning process for producing high-quality leather at ACLE. The process has exceptional environmental properties and is based on organic chemicals that are toxicologically safe for economical and sustainable wet white manufacture.
LANXESS markets a wide range of leather chemicals and has products that are useful in diverse stages of the leather manufacturing process, from the wet end process to the finishing process. The company provides synthetic/organic, inorganic tanning materials, fatliquoring agents, dyestuffs, tanning auxiliaries and preservatives. It also provides acrylates, auxiliaries and polyurethane dispersions for the finishing processes. The products are designed for resource-conserving and energy-saving production processes in the leather manufacturing industry.
LANXESS's Vice President of Product Development and Application in its Leather business unit, Dr. Tegtmeyer, has stated that the new organic tanning material was an expansion of the company’s product portfolio with new sustainable developments and products. He added that the product was part of the company’s Sustainable Leather Management program.
LANXESS is highlighting its antisoiling system, Aquaderm X-Shield at the ACLE exhibition. The system has passed soiling tests conducted by the automotive industry.
