Billerud has entered into an agreement to invest in the US-based PACCESS Packaging, a business division of PACCESS. This investment will improve Billerud’s footprint in Asia, which is one of the rapidly growing packaging markets in the world.
PACCESS Packaging is a specialist in the design and development of packaging for use in production and shipment across Asia. The company provides several value-added services for developing and delivering cost-effective packaging products to various industries. The company’s customer base includes leading retailers and multinational brand owners. The customers have used the packaging to improve the product and brand marketing and also to enhance product movement via a supply chain network.
Billerud’s President and CEO, Per Lindberg stated that the investment represents a step forward in the company’s strategy to become a customer- and solution-driven firm. Currently, brand owners give more importance to packaging optimization in terms of design, function, material and sustainability. Billerud will be able to develop a strong platform by combining its renewable materials capability with PACCESS Packaging’s wider presence in Asia, expertise in packaging development and a well-established customer base.
Similarly, PACCESS’s President, Harve Bellos quoted that the partnership with Billerud will reinforce PACCESS Packaging’s position as a packaging service provider. Both the companies will have opportunities for growth in the new market segments and business sectors.
