Olympia Steel Buildings of Canada has delivered a 2,000 sq ft of general storage use, pre-engineered metal building to Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek/Rocky Bay First Nation Reserve located nearly 1,300 km north of Toronto.
The Olympia Steel Buildings general storage will be used to stock general construction materials, trucks and boats. The territory of Rocky Bay Band, which was formally established in 1960, is situated on the Rocky Bay 1 Indian reserve in Greenstone, Ontario, close to Macdiarmid. As per the 2008 records, the Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek, formerly called as Rocky Bay First Nation, had 678 residents. It has numerous community facilities and services.
According to Andre Nobis, who serves as Rocky Bay First Nation Housing Manager, the team, without proper construction training, had completed the construction of the new storage metal building in 10 days subsequent to the identification of the required parts.
Olympia Steel Buildings of Canada’s Vice President, Steve Wetmore commented that Olympia pre-engineered steel buildings can withstand Canadian winters, even in severe Northwestern Ontario. The buildings are designed to comply with all Canadian standards, which include CSA-A660 Quality Certification for Steel Building Systems, he said. The company is happy to help Rocky Bay First Nation in constructing the storage building for Rocky Bay First Nation, he added.
