Makhteshim Agan Group (MAI) has opened a new formulation and packaging facility in Dahej, India to support the company’s rapidly growing plant protection business in the Indian market.
The facility will also help to serve the company’s requirements in the African and APAC region. Dahej is a hub for the chemical sector in India.
Erez Vigodman, President and CEO, stated that the facility launch represents a major milestone in the growth and development of MAI in the Middle East, Africa and APAC region.
The Dahej facility includes a research and development center and it boosts the company’s growth initiative in the Indian market. MAI’s local formulation and packaging plant will make supply chain easier in India and enable the company to be closer to its customers in the market. The addition of new capabilities will improve MAI’s flexibility and customer service.
The construction work began in October 2010 and an international team of Israeli and Indian professionals has made significant contributions to this project. The formulation and packaging plant is designed with strict quality control mechanisms and advanced production capabilities that meet the international quality standards. The facility that is specialized in small packages and market specific formulations will mainly focus to fulfill the requirements of the Indian farmers.
