Protective Packaging has launched corrosion prevention services that are customized to fulfill corrosion prevention requirements in a large scale.
The new range of services covers site assessment, corrosion analysis, protection recommendations, on-site packaging and training. Protective Packaging has recently resolved a corrosive decay problem in a large South American gas plant. The company had sent a corrosion prevention team to assess the condition and assist the company in executing a solution.
After the investigation of the plant’s corrosion levels, Protective Packaging recommended an overall plan for corrosion prevention. The team recorded prevention recommendations by the type of environmental conditions, location and metal and estimated the duration of storage time. It also trained the workers to make them implement their overall corrosion preservation method s for long-term protection.
Protective Packaging’s corrosion prevention solutions comprised an extensive range of moisture blockade materials such as polyethylene/foil films, different sizes of desiccants to capture any residual moisture inside the barrier bags, volatile corrosion inhibitors to prevent exterior metals from corrosion and the knowledge to select and use specific materials depending on situations.
The client was able to drastically decrease expenditures of replacing and refurbishing components and machinery at the plant due to pest contamination, ultraviolet damage, weathering and corrosion. Steve Hanna, President at Protective Packaging, commented that executives understand that they can now protect machineries at a fraction of the cost of repairing and replacing them.
