Nordson MARCH and Science College of Donghua University located in Shanghai, China, have established a joint lab dedicated to plasma research advancement and plasma technology education.
Science College of Donghua, a well-known university studying plasma physics and its uses, provides a Master's degree in Physics and Optical Engineering. Nordson MARCH, which develops innovative plasma methods and devices for application in the printed circuit board, semiconductor packaging and other manufacturing industries is a renowned institution. The collaboration allows sharing of personnel resources, research, equipment and expertise between the university and the company.
The official name of the laboratory is ‘Nordson MARCH-Science College of Donghua University Joint Laboratory’. Professors and students of the college will be employed as staff of the lab where they will conduct future plasma research activities. Moreover, Nordson MARCH has donated an AP-600 Plasma Treatment System to the lab equipped with mass spectrometer, surface energy tester and electron microscope that were contributed by the university to support continuing plasma education and research activities.
The AP-600 Plasma System offers superior consistent plasma cleaning and treatment with better reliability at lower cost. Nordson MARCH’s Chief Scientist, Jack Zhao stated that the joint lab is a winning partnership. The university has a pool of devoted scientists willing to study further about advanced applications of plasma technology, he said. The lab also grows its research resources into China and strengthens its status as a pioneer, he added.
