China Ceramics has declared that the capacity expansion is complete at its Hengda facility, which can now manufacture 42 million sq m of ceramic tiles annually, up from 28 million sq m in the fiscal year 2010 and an increase from 32 million sq m in the second quarter of 2011.
China Ceramics expects the complete utilization of its new capacity at Hengda facility within three months. The new machineries deployed at the facility are kiln and sophisticated stone-breaking machinery that will improve the operations at the facility. The company can now produce 52 million sq m of ceramic tiles in total, which includes 10 million sq m from its Hengdali facility and 42 million sq m from its Hengda facility.
Once Phase II of the Hengdali facility is completed by the end of the fiscal year 2011, the facility’s total annual production capacity will increase to 30 million sq m,, which in turn will increase the total annual production capacity of China Ceramics to about 72 million sq m of ceramic tiles.
The Chief Executive Officer at China Ceramics, Jiadong Huang stated that the capacity expansion at its Hengda facility is an important milestone to the company. The advanced machinery in the Hengda facility allows the company to produce customized products at a lower cost based on the requirements of its customers and manufacture value-added products.
The Hengdali facility expansion will include the development of more plant facilities, the deployment of advanced machineries and the building of a staff quarters and administrative building.
