CARBO Ceramics, one of the world's largest suppliers of ceramic proppant products for fracturing oil and gas wells, has signed a definitive agreement with Robins & Morton, a privately held engineering and construction firm, to provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for the new ceramic proppant manufacturing plant.
The plant will produce ceramic proppants that are used by oil and gas industries to improve production from oil and gas wells. Ceramic proppants are small spheres each having the size of a pin head. The facility construction is anticipated to create about 300 jobs.
Mark Edmunds, VP for Operations at CARBO, stated that the new facility will enhance the company's proppant manufacturing capacity. Robins and Morton has been selected for CARBO’s project as it better understands the values of customer service.
Steve Quillin, VP for Engineering and General Manager of Robins & Morton’s newly opened Power and Industrial Division offices in Raleigh or Durham, commented that they are excited to collaborate with customers like CARBO who understand the value-added services provided by them. Robins & Morton track a project from concept through completion, which shows their commitment towards client service.
In addition to the supply of ceramic proppant, CARBO offers fracture simulation software and fracture design and consulting services. The company also delivers a wide range of technologies for countermeasures, containment, spill prevention and geotechnical monitoring.
