Eco Building Products, a manufacturer of proprietary wood products, has been awarded an order to supply Red Shield concentrates to Cyberwood’s division, Hana. Hana will use the concentrates to process about 820,000 board feet of lumber.
Eco Building Products’ Red Shield coating uses the patent pending technology and provides considerable protection and fire safety to wood building components ranging from beams, joists and panelling to ceilings and floors. Hana’s parent company has planned to treat lumber and wood flooring substrates to market them in the South Korean market.
For supplying the domestic industries and markets, Korea relies on timber imports from Chile, New Zealand, the US, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries. Till now, the country depended on imports for primary timber products like bamboo, plywood, lumber and logs, which are manufactured into secondary products such as pulp, paper, medium density fibreboard, particle board and hardboard. Cyberwood has pointed out Red Shield lumber offers all the features that are required in the local markets.
Eco Building Products’ President and CEO, Steve Conboy stated that their global marketing plans have started to come into action through Cyberwood. The company wants to use this opportunity to deliver coated lumber products to the other Asian markets.
