A new line of glass fiber has been released by Porex, a pioneer in the development and production of sintered porous plastic products. Porex BioDesign binder-free glass fiber line is developed to provide reliability, accuracy and precision when utilized in complex purification, extraction, separation and filtration processes.
The glass fibers are produced in a wide range of particle thicknesses and sizes and they can be utilized in several diagnostic and life science applications, including conjugate release, absorbent pads, IVD sample wicks, purification kits, assay plates and spin columns. The innovative Porex BioDesign helps to eliminate premature clogging and balancing flow rate while processing demanding solutions and large volumes.
Porex’s new line of glass fiber delivers several advanced characteristics and functionalities, including hydrophilic, borosilicate glass fiber membrane, borosilicate glass fiber composite with porous membrane, fast flow rates and excellent wet strength for membrane handling and integrity. In addition, the fibers are easily compressible, have large surface area for enhanced retention capacity and offer high loading capacity and wide thermal tolerance. President and CEO of Porex, William Midgette stated that the launch of the BioDesign glass fiber shows the company’s commitment to deliver innovative, high quality solutions that meet the requirements of its life science and healthcare customers.
