Naturally Advanced Technologies (NAT) declared that it has signed a development and supply agreement with Target to assess the application of its CRAiLAR Flax fiber in Target's domestic textiles division.
The agreement stipulates uniqueness for two years in the category and requests Target's assessment of CRAiLAR Flax in a wide range of products containing window treatments, sheets, table linens, top of beds, towels, shower curtains, decorative pillows and much more.
Vancouver-based NAT in combination with the National Research Council of Canada has developed an in-house enzymatic process that converts natural strong and woody fibers into supple and refined cloth that is as snug as cotton, but more resilient and green, which can be assimilated with the present technology for spinning, weaving, or forming cloth to be used in footwear, formal and domestic textiles and apparel.
CRAiLAR Flax fiber can also be used for industrial purposes. NAT has signed agreements for marketing and developing CRAiLAR Flax fiber with a number of renowned textile brands such as Brilliant Global Knitwear, HanesBrands, Levi Strauss & Co Georgia-Pacific, Brilliant Global Knitwear, Cintas, Ashland, Carhartt and Westex.
Naturally Advanced Technologies established in 1998 offers ecologically-aware and socially accountable clothing. It develops green and environmentally conscious biomass assets from bast fibers to be used in medical, composite material, industrial, energy and textile applications.
