EVRAZ, a combination of EVRAZ plc and EVRAZ group SA has declared to start a new company, named “EVRAZ Europe” by consolidating the entire EVRAZ’s assests including EVRAZ Palini e Bertoli Spa and EVRAZ Vitkovice Steel a.s.
This consolidation is another milestone in the implementation of the European asset’s of EVRAZ’long-term strategy, which is to create a single Pan-European business, thereby improving the profitability and efficiency of the business functioning and processes.
The new EVRAZ Europe will be headed by Mr. Dmitrij Scuka, appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the company from 2 January of 2012. Since 2009, Scuka has been the company’s Director of Operations having an in-depth knowledge about EVRAZ’ European business operations, and is responsible for the transformation and functioning of the three EVRAZ facilities in South Africa and Europe. Before committing to EVRAZ, Scuka was in the position of Enterprise Applications business unit’s partner in charge for Deloitte Central Europe and also held many other positions in the management consulting division. Scuka holds a diploma from the Moscow Power Engineering University in the field of thermophysics/nuclear power generation. Before EVRAZ Europe starts its complete functioning, Scuka will replace Mr. Zbynek Kvapik, who was the Chief Executive Officer of EVRAZ Vitkovice Steel for 28 years, effective from 2 January of 2012.
Pavel Tatyanin, EVRAZ International Business’ Senior Vice President, stated that the company is delighted to wish Mr. Scuka on his new designation. Tatyanin also added that Scuka’s success in managing the business operations at the company’s three EVRAZ mills will improve the growth of the European business.
