Interstate Container, a manufacturer of wax-alternative coated corrugated sheets and packaging has announced that it will exhibit its wax-free GREENCOAT corrugated packaging at the Southeast Regional Fruit & Vegetable Conference being held in Savannah, GA between 5th and 8th January at booth #226 and #228.
The 2012 Southeast Regional Fruit & Vegetable Conference is a trade show and educational conference held for suppliers, vendors, packers and growers of fresh produce.
GREENCOAT has been developed as a compostable and 100% repulpable and recyclable packaging solution and is FBA-certified. The corrugated material has been developed to provide long lasting moisture resistance and can withstand rough handling, long transportation and storage, high exposure to moisture and temperature fluctuations.
Since coating of the paper has not been outsourced to external agencies, Interstate Container controls the manufacturing process completely and controlling its cost effectiveness as well. The wax-free GREENCOAT packaging is as strong and durable as curtain coated and cascaded wax boxes, although they can be easily glued when compared to waxed boxes.
The GREENCOAT material was developed after 5 years of research and development. The first successful trial of the wax-free boxes was executed with Mountaire Farms, a poultry processor based in Delaware.
Interstate Container’s GREENCOAT corrugated packaging can be used to pack meat, seafood, poultry, fresh produce as well as floral, frozen and refrigerated products.
