American Durafilm, a supplier of high performance films and coating, has acquired the production assets of Concentric MicroTubing based in Cornelius, North Carolina. The acquisition will allow the company to add small and large diameter polyimide tubing and custom assemblies to its portfolio.
The company supplies Teflon, PEEK, Kapton, Tefzel, Everlube, Emralon, Halar, Dykor and Xylan. It has over six decades of experience in fabricating advanced coatings and films.
All manufacturing and research development activities will continue in the North Carolina facility and will be supervised by Jeff Allegrati.
American Durafilm’s Vice President of the Coatings Division, Mark Varney stated that the company is happy to avail the services of Jeff Allegrati, who will continue to serve CMTi’s present and new customers while the company transforms the operation unit into American Durafilm.
Apart from providing seamless polyimide tubing in ID sizes, the new Tubing Division will also offer laser, necking, tipping, machining, flaring, reflow, thermoplastic jackets, cylindrical metallic tubes, nitinol and subassembly services. Contract subassembly work is carried out in the clean room facility, which is ISO7/Class10000.
