Jacobs Engineering Group has declared the execution of four agreements signed with Arkema France.
Under the terms of the agreement, Jacobs offer basic engineering services in order to help the supply of Arkema’s own emulsion and suspension technology to the four clients in China.
Four new polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production facilities use Arkema's technology. The location of these four plants is in Etuoke Banner, Hefei, Golmud, and Wu Lan Cha Bu. Currently, the basic engineering work is done by the PVC technology team of Arkema and PVC technology experts of Jacobs in the Netherlands.
The four new projects located in China will increase the total production potential of the plants to more than 4 Mt annually, by using PVC licenses from Arkema. Arkema and Jacobs have been in partnership for the projects, since 2008, wherein Arkema’s PVC technology has been licensed.
According to Arkema’s Vice President for the Vinyl Products division, Otto Takken, the collaboration of Arkema with Jacobs, which is one of the major construction and engineering groups in the world, has provided special value to the customers.
Robert Matha, Jacobs Group’s VP commented that the company is delighted to continue the partnership with Arkema and to support their clients in China. These new projects distinguish the company’s special technical potential in the competitive global chemical industry’s main area. This new work will satisfy the present strategy in order to reinforce Jacobs' presence in China.
