HaloSource, a provider of clean water technology, has partnered with Servicios de Ingeniería Geosintética, S.A. (SIGSA), based in San Jose, Costa Rica, to develop and install the next generation HaloKlear dual polymer system (DPS) technology.
The new technology will be used in SIGSA’s industrial water-treatment markets in Latin America. Once the development has been completed, a strategic supply agreement will be signed by the two companies. The applications of the HaloKlear technology include hydro-electric dam construction, dredging and storm-water run-off construction projects.
SIGSA has been buying the current HaloKlear DPS solution for several projects. The present collaboration is an advance towards deployment of the next generation HaloKlear biopolymer solution that delivers higher value in terms of performance and cost. It minimizes the consumer’s carbon footprint by preventing the earlier practice of transferring chemically contaminated material to landfill. Hence, it is suitable for commercial scale, environment-friendly water treatment markets in Latin America.
The high performance HaloKlear polymer technology from HaloSource removes contaminants from dredging operations, drilling projects and storm water runoff at construction locations and polluted water resulting from oil & gas exploration activities. Thus, it ensures production of safe and clean water sources. Martin Coles, HaloSource’s CEO, stated that the partnership with SIGSA represents the company’s progress towards its strategy to offer superior water treatment technologies across the world.
