Sonoco, a provider of various consumer packaging, protective packaging, industrial products and supply chain services, announced that its ThermoSafe Brands business has expanded the Certis range of packaging solutions with the addition of Certis Silver.
The company has designed the new off-the-shelf packaging solution based on the ISCsilver Ambient Temperature Profile. Certis Silver delivers cost-effective and rapidly marketable solutions as part of its refrigerated temperature range.
As temperature assurance packaging requirements can vary extensively, a patent-pending, flexible platform design has been created, which is common to all Certis solutions. By using the patent-pending design, standard Certis Qualified Shippers can be tailored to meet customers’ specific needs for ambient profiles, payload sizes, shipping durations and temperature control. This requires only simple alterations to the shipper system components or PCMs. ThermoSafe has a capability to develop a custom packaging solution that exactly meets the requirements of a product. Yet, Certis packaging products are more suitable because they enhance operational efficiencies, hasten speed-to-market and minimize freight costs.
Certis Silver solutions have been designed using Thermophase powered by PureTemp phase change materials (PCMs). These materials provide higher efficiency, easy pack outs, tighter temperature control and lighter and smaller packages. Thermophase PCMs are non-hazardous, 100% eco-friendly, non-toxic and maintain consistent temperatures during melting and freezing. ThermoSafe Brands’ Certis Gold packaging solutions have been designed to maintain strict temperature control under highly unpredictable storing and shipping conditions. These solutions are based on the precise ISCgold Ambient Temperature Profile.
