Materion has declared that it has purchased Aerospace Metal Composites (AMC) located in Farnborough of England.
AMC manufactures high-performance metal matrix composites that are strengthened using ultra fine particulate material. Aluminum materials are the constituents of matrix composites. AMC produces materials in the form of plate, billet, forging, precision and bulk extrusions. The company’s products are delivered to a number of clients and employed in various applications, which include aerospace, performance automotive, defense and high-speed or precision machinery.
The Beryllium and Composites section of Materion will manage AMC. The product line of AMC enhances the company’s beryllium, derived from powder metal, metal-based product lines, which include AlBeMet.
According to Materion’s CEO and President, Richard J. Hipple, the company is delighted to add AMC to its business. Materion and AMC's significant technology and marketing synergies can be leveraged for future growth. AMC enhances the technology and allows Materion to offer new material solutions to its clients. The company anticipates that this acquisition will enable it to expand its applications in the defense, aerospace, and semiconductor equipment markets.
