Entries Open for Aluminium Foil Packaging Awards

European aluminium foil packaging solutions that provide excellence in innovation, protection, user convenience and environmental responsibility will be rewarded with the Alufoil Trophy 2006.

Organised by the European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA) the Alufoil Trophy awards are open to packaging designers, brand owners and retailers, as well as foil rollers, foil converters and foil container manufacturers. The closing date for entries is 31st October 2005.

Stefan Glimm, Executive Director, EAFA, said, “The unique characteristics aluminium foil brings to the packaging market deserve widespread recognition. The Alufoil Trophy winner gives us a great opportunity to demonstrate foil’s very distinctive benefits to a wide audience of potential users.”

Any product using alufoil in food and drink (including pet food), pharmaceuticals, personal care and cosmetics, industrial, and sports and recreational markets can be submitted without an entry fee for consideration as long as it was introduced to the market after 1st January 2004 and has not been previously entered.

The judging panel will be drawn from the brand, converter and supplier communities and will assess packs for innovative content, product protection, end-user benefits, and quality of graphic design, print and finish, as well as environmental responsibility.
