Rhein Chemie, a developer and distributor of additives and specialty chemicals, has launched Additin RC 5000, a new series of water-miscible additives, at Fuels and Lubes Conference in Macau, China.
The company has expanded its product portfolio by introducing additive packages and a range of single components for water-based applications. These new products have been designed to meet the requirements of today’s metalworking processes.
Additin RC 5000 series has been developed for emulsifiable and water-soluble metalworking fluids. One among the series, the Additin RC 5820 additive inhibits aluminum corrosion without using silicon and phosphorus chemistries that are normally used in the metalworking fluids available today. Additin RC 5610 is an additive package, which is free from chlorine, phosphorous, amines and boron. It allows manufacturers to produce improved aluminum machining fluids. The additive is suitable for applications in aerospace and automotive industries.
Aluminum machining has turned out to be a fundamental of the metalworking industry. However, in recent years the development of the aluminum machining has exceeded more than the advancement in the technology utilized in such applications.
Liam Johnson, Head of Application at Rhein Chemie’s Lubricant Oil Additives Asia, stated that the company is delighted to launch its new additive products in a region like Macao, where oil-based metalworking fluids hold majority of the market. Rhein Chemie will continue to focus on the research and development of additive products for water-based applications.
