Airbus has given a Bronze Award to Alcoa Fastening Systems (AFS) for its excellent performance in its supplier quality improvement program.
Airbus has selected their top tier suppliers and has given the awards based on the supplier quality, sustainability performance, improvement and timely delivery. AFS has supplied fasteners to Airbus for all their major programs, which include the A320, A340, A380, A350, A330 and A400M.
According to the Vice President of AFS’ Global Aerospace Customers and Marketing division, Craig Brown, Airbus has recognized AFS with this Bronze award. This award has shown the appreciation by the clients regarding the company’s dedication towards manufacturing functions, engineering, sales, quality, logistics organizations. AFS is striving to be a leader in delivering superior quality, technical and operational support to the industry.
Alcoa Fastening Systems is Alcoa’s business unit and is the main designer and producer of fastening systems, which include assembly parts, fluid fittings, installation systems, and specialty fasteners for industrial and aerospace applications. The headquarters of AFS is located in Torrance of California. More than 6,200 workers are employed at the company’s 31 manufacturing and logistics or distribution sites in 11 countries.
Alcoa manufactures primary and fabricated aluminum and is the largest bauxite miner and alumina refiner. Alcoa supplies hard alloy extrusions, flat-rolled products, forgings and fastening systems, Alcoa wheels, building systems, investment and precision castings to the market.
