Boca Bearings has launched a series of expanded mounted unit bearings. The new bearing series will integrate mini mounted units together with low profile housings, and thermoplastic housings.
The mounted unit bearings are utilized when the axis of a shaft and the bearing mounting surface are perpendicular to each other. Pillow blocks and flange mounted unit bearings are available in the configuration of 2 or 4-holes and offer a method for load support and exact mounting fits.
A thermoplastic and high-grade housing along with a stainless steel insert is present in thermoplastic mounted unit bearings. Insert bearings that are ceramic hybrid or completely ceramic can be an alternate for inch and metric from a 0.5000 in. to a 1.5000 in. bore. Thermoplastic housings have exceptional mechanical strength, rigidity, dimensional stability and will not corrode or rust. Thermoplastic is ideal for applications, which need frequent wash downs, work near liquid or food contaminants and are highly exposed to harsh humidity or chemicals. Four Bolt Flange, Two Bolt Flange and Pillow Block styles are available. Thermoplastic can possibly deal with the operating temperatures from -35° to 102°C.
A rustproof housing is there in mini mounted unit bearings and is made using a stainless steel 304 or special alloy along with bearings that are manufactured from stainless steel 440C and high carbon chromium bearing steel. Tight spaces ideally use low profile mini mounted units, which have excellent dimensional stability, mechanical strength and hardness. Accurate bearing selection can be reached through the knowledge of the thrust load and radial, shaft size requirements.
