Solutia has reported that the company is showcasing its advanced XIR reflective film products and Saflex polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers in the 2012 China Glass exposition, which is being held in China from 2 to 5 April, 2012.
Heat-reducing and acoustic damping technologies will be exhibited by the company for architectural and automotive laminated glass applications. The company will display advanced color interlayer and structural solutions for the architectural market.
A presentation on solar heat reduction will be open to visitors featuring the advantages of Saflex S series of superior solar absorbing interlayers and the XIR reflective films. Participants will be actually able to hear the difference that the acoustic inter layers of the Saflex Q series make in automotive and architectural glazing applications, and blend and match their proprietary custom colors and the Vanceva color system for use in laminated glass.
Saflex’s global business director, Tom Selm stated that there is a continuous increase in the requirement of Saflex interlayers across the world, particularly in China. He added that China Glass 2012 is an ideal platform for demonstration of its new PVB products to glass fabricators and laminators, who supply substantially to the rapidly growing architectural and automotive industries in China and the Asia-Pacific markets.
Saflex interlayers are manufactured at Solutia’s manufacturing unit, situated in China. Solutia has invested many times in order to increase production potential and extent of customer service to the growing area. The company planned to expand a second production line at the Suzhou plant during 2011.
