The 2012 FMA / CAN safety awards have been declared by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA). FMA honored JMC Steel Group (JMC) with awards in three categories for its excellent safety measures. JMC received 2012 Most Improved Safety Record, 2012 Safety Award of Merit and 2012 Safety Award of Honor.
According to JMC’s Executive Vice President of operations, John Higgins, this award recognition for 2012 in three categories has shown the constant commitment of the company to strive for safety excellence. The company’s employees have been conscious about this commitment in each of its plants and these awards prove the same, he stated.
FMA recognizes metal fabrication companies with the 2012 FMA / CNA Safety Awards for their commitment in safety excellence. The FMA Safety Council selected the award winners and will present the awards on 25 and 26 April, 2012 at the annual FMA Safety Conference, which will be held in Milwaukee of Wisconsin.
The award winners of the JMC Steel Group are Wheatland Tube of Pennsylvania, Atlas Tube facility of Arkansas in 2012 Safety Award of Honor category, Atlas Tube (Pipe) and Atlas Tube (Structural) of Chicago, Atlas Tube Canada of Ontario, Atlas Tube of Michigan in 2012 Safety Award of Merit category and Atlas Tube of Plymouth in Michigan in the 2012 Most Improved Safety Record Award.
FMA will determine the award winners depending on the illness incidence and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) injury rates and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code categories.
