At the American Coatings Show, Momentive Performance Materials, a company specializing in silicones and advanced materials, will exhibit its CoatOSil silicon-based specialty additives.
The exhibition will be held in Indianapolis, U.S. from May 8 to 10. CoatOSil 2287 silane is an additive that improves the physical features of polyurethane-based, waterborne polymer dispersions. Testing has shown that when the silane is used as an adhesion promoter or crosslinker, the material can enhance wet adhesion and water resistance properties and offer excellent shelf stability. In addition, the additive is resistant to yellowing. Thus, CoatOSil 2287 silane is an ideal material for application in metal or wood coatings.
CoatOSil MP 200 is a crosslinker offered by Momentive Performance Materials can improve the performance of waterborne coatings. The material features oligomeric structure, which helps the crosslinker to chemically bond with a wide range of organic and inorganic substrates for perfect adhesion over several surfaces. The silicon-based additive offer exceptional chemical and scrub resistance.
Another silicon-based specialty solution, CoatOSil 7001 is ideal for use as a flow and leveling additive in monocoat and clearcoat formulations in automotive and various other applications. The copolymer solution offers enhanced distinctiveness of image (DOI) and film clarity. Testing has revealed that CoatOSil 7001 additive can deliver improved flow and leveling characteristics at lower consumption levels compared to other materials that are currently used.
