With a 65-year history of leadership in the third-party testing industry, Sherry Laboratories has witnessed countless changes in the testing arena, as well as the markets it serves. Amidst improvements in instrumentation, technology, standards, and even the ease of doing business, one constant remains: our commitment to being the best laboratory in the industry.
To achieve that goal, it is imperative that we have an innate understanding of the mission-critical role our laboratories play in the success of our clients. We must be able to perform evaluations of the highest quality to meet rigid industry standards. And we must perform the testing in a timeframe that enables our customers to complete their important business transactions expeditiously so as to meet their clients' expectations.
Sherry Laboratories continued to invest heavily in technology, equipment and facility upgrades in 2011 so as to continue its commitment to its ever-growing customer base. In fact, capital investments in
Sherry's network of laboratories will total in excess of $5 million in 2011-12. "The past year was a transformational year for Sherry Laboratories, and we are in a strong position as we look forward," said Chris LaMothe, CEO of Sherry Laboratories. "In 2011 we expanded relationships with established partners and added new significant customers. We also expanded our creep and stress rupture capacity, and broadened our scope of aerospace approvals at both materials laboratories."
Sherry's materials division is also in its third year of strategic investment in training and development. In 2011, more than 80 percent of the employees participated in over 2,600 training hours. "The initiatives in which we are investing are catalysts for our growth as we continue to build Sherry Laboratories as the industry lab of choice for both customers and the workforce elite," LaMothe said. "This year will prove to be just as exciting as 2011, as we launch our fatigue testing lab and bring on new, innovative equipment to continue compressing our turn-time for the benefit of our customers."
Sherry Laboratories' two materials testing facilities, located in the Indianapolis and Tulsa metropolitan areas, provide Nadcap- and A2LA-approved metallurgical testing services as well as failure analysis and reverse engineering for clients in a multitude of industries including aerospace, defense, medical, nuclear, automotive, oil and gas and power generation.
