Arlon LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Handy & Harman, has scaled up the China operations of its Arlon Material Technologies (AMT) business.
The company doubled the production capacity of its laminate materials in order to meet the increasing demand for the lamination which is used in microwave circuits. Arlon’s continued success in Asia spurred the company to expand further to capitalize on the existing opportunities. Operations at Asia commenced in 2004 in China with the company setting up just a distribution center. This was followed by the establishment of the AMT facility in 2006. Arlon’s Silicone Technologies Division was next set up in 2010 followed by the inclusion of production capability for fiberglass coating in 2011. Arlon is all set for further expansion to include production capabilities for thermoset products by 2013. Arlon’s manufacturing facilities are located at Delaware, California and Suzhou, China. The expansion will facilitate the production of silicone rubber products, laminates and thermoset in China and North America.
The President and CEO of Arlon LLC, Bob Carini stated that the Suzhou facility is an integral part of the company and was responsible for its growth. He also said that the spate of expansions was an acknowledgement of the commitment and expertise of the employees to meet requirements at the global level.
