In the wake of requests from customers for power inductors with wider current range, AVX has developed a series of shielded and non-shielded SMD inductors labeled as the Lmax series.
The new series is a significant addition to the passive component maker’s series of multi-layer organic (MLO), thin film and conical wire-wound, broadband inductors. The Lmax series is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant and offers an extensive range of inductance with accompanying high current rating and low DC resistance required for industrial applications.
The new series offers high flexibility in the design of fixed as well as portable devices and finds application in a host of industrial and consumer power devices for process control and test measurements. The inductors also find application in DC to DC converters, switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) and telecommunication devices such as mobile phones and computers. Production for the Lmax series has commenced and the company provides samples on request.
Gregg Elliott, Product Manager at AVX, informed that the Lmax series inductors have a wider current range and considerably expand the mode of applications, allowing customers to easily integrate the technology.
AVX, headquartered at Greenville, South Carolina, is a manufacturer of electronic passive components such as inductors, capacitors, resistors, timers, filters and inter-connect solutions such as connectors.
