ILLIG, a major supplier of high-performance production lines and molds for thermoforming plastic materials and solutions for the packaging industry, has announced that over 200 participants from various regions attended its 2012 Open House meeting, which took place at Heilbronn from May 9 to 10.
The main feature of the event was the innovative ILLIG Intelligent Control Concept (ILLIG IC), which allows the utilization of the servo-driven third-generation thermoformers to the maximum extent. Experts delivered presentations along with several machine demonstrations. ILLIG’s RDM-K, RDK, RV and RD series of automatic roll-fed machines were featured at the event. These machines manufacture a wide range of lids, hinged packs, trays, cups and packs.
The modular design of the ILLIG IC enables the user to make the best use of the various possibilities based on requirement. The compatible modules, such as ThermoLineControl, improve productivity, reproducibility and availability of a full thermoforming line and/or a thermoformer.
ThermoLineControl module can integrate all machine components of the line and programme them centrally on the touch panel present at the forming station. In addition, several auxiliary functions help optimize processes and decrease tool installation times. A newly added feature is the dynamic process optimization, which eliminates the need for machine operator with specialist knowledge. Automatic, continuous adaptation of the temperature or heating time of the heater elements helps achieve a consistent material temperature, resulting in continuous high product quality. Another new module, self-adaptive start-up (sas-up), allows a significant reduction in material utilization during setting up and commissioning of new equipment.
